Rhetoric Extempore - Shakespeare's Language Games
Workshop Description: Unlock the verbal fireworks of the Bard in a high‑energy workshop that enlivens your improv with the very tricks that packed the Globe. We'll catapult from the handful of devices most actors know—think alliteration and pun—to some familiar improv games which Shakespeare would've known by another name. We'll warm-up with antithesis, play with anadiplosis, and heighten to hyperbole! You’ll learn to decorate scenes with language games, unlocking character, narrative and comedy. Whether you’re a seasoned improviser or new to the stage, come learn how classical rhetoric can electrify your language, and leave audiences cheering “Huzzah!”.
Instructor:
