About the event
Shakespeare loved a clown. From his bawdy Touchstone to his wise Jacques, he explored many forms of the clown, fool and jester. This 3-hour workshop will explore some basics of clowning, focusing on clown perspective and exaggerated movement based in the Commedia Dell'Arte tradition. From there, we will experiment with how theatrical clowning can be applied to Shakespeare's characters using short excerpts from his plays. Come prepared to move, laugh and play!
